Nav App
Overview
Create and test a mobile application design including a prototype for a bus schedule application for current and future bus transit users in the mid-west metropolitan area.
Transit officials have identified a problem that they want to solve:
Due to expansion, numerous bus routes have been recently added.
Complaints: “Riders are complaining the most about the bus stop at Washington & State, which has seven bus lines serving the stop.”
Problem Statement
Riders want to know:
As a bus rider, I want to be able to pick the correct bus out of the seven that come by the bus stop so that I can make it to my destination.
As a bus rider, I want to know how much time I have to get to the Washington and State bus stop so that I can make the next bus on time.

Usability Testing
Desired outcome is to find areas of opportunity to help meet business goal. User expressing confusion or pain points?
Tasks asked to complete:
How much time do you have to get to the Washington and State bus stop
Which one of the seven bus routes will take you to your destination, Tempe Beach Park
Track your route to Tempe Beach Park
Method Used: Qualitative
Users were given a task to complete within the prototype without any guidance
Asked user to verbalize ALL thoughts as they went through the prototype.
Notes taken on laptop while observing user actions and thought process from start to finish of their bus route process(unable to record sessions to re-review)
Feedback
2 out of 5 users had issues completing the task: How much time to get to Washington & State bus stop
(Since it was the first task given it became unclear on how to complete it while following the Nav App prototype because during the flow, selecting 1 of 7 bus lines comes first)
Nav App Prototype only allowed users to one bus route and the others did not open a screen up for them, so users assumed it was the correct one, since there were not other options to compare it to.
Iterations
Introduced logo page at the front
Give visibility to logoAdded route to Washington & State as separate task
To help celebrate different milestones metChanged route colors to match a traffic light:
Green(Currently there)
Yellow(Coming Steps)
Red(Arrived)
